Hello, My name is Victoria Buckle and I am the Club Welfare Officer for the Newmarket branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC). My role is to ensure that everyone is taught to dive in a safe, encouraging, and positive environment.

BSAC, and the Newmarket club, recognise the importance of the positive instructor/student relationship, and has clear expectations that BSAC Branch Officers and Instructors have a responsibility to maintain that relationship of trust within the boundary of professionalism.

We want all who participate in our sport to find it fun and enjoyable. Children and vulnerable adults have the right to be treated equally, and we aim to ensure that this always happens. We all have the responsibility to protect children and vulnerable adults from any harm.

We have a copy of the BSAC safeguarding policy on our web site and you are encouraged to read it.

All Instructors within the club have enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks before being allowed to teach for the club. Should you have any concerns regarding your child’s welfare within the club, please contact me.

There is also a list of the Branch Committee Members, and their contact details, on our web site, should you feel that you need to discuss anything with them.

The Newmarket Branch of BSAC welcomes all, regardless of age*, gender, or ethnic origin.

*Children must be aged 10 or over to participate in diving activities.

Victoria Buckle
